Do you want to know a secret? Until 2015, right after my son was born, I was still using the same Neutrogena face wash, Aveeno lotion, and Mac makeup that I had been using since high school. It was working for my skin and I just didn’t want to put the time, energy, and investment into researching and purchasing better, safer brands. My usual go-tos are a tinted moisturizer, some mascara and under eye concealer, so I didn’t feel like I needed to make a switch.
I switched to Beautycounter after my son was born when a good friend of mine reached out to tell me about a safer option for my personal care products. More recently, I started eliminating gluten from my diet to attempt to alleviate my chronic migraine headaches. I had no idea that gluten was hidden in personal care products either! Now I am more aware.
Enter Beautycounter. I continued switching out my products as things ran out, and soon after decided that I loved the products and the mission of the brand so much, that I signed on as a consultant. I am often asked about my skin, and what types of products I use. I am blessed to have great skin (thank you, Mom!), but I have seen such an improvement since I started using Beautycounter products. Now I am proud to tell others what I use, because I know that it is not only safe, but also high-performing.
While Beautycounter doesn’t claim to be an “organic” or “all-natural” company, they have committed to only using safe ingredients and responsible practices, and I feel confident using it on myself and my family.
They have committed to a health and safety standard that goes well beyond what is legally required in the United States. Beautycounter has created a NeverList of greater than 1500 questionable or known-to-be harmful chemicals that they will never use as an ingredient in any of their products. The United States as a whole has only banned 30 products. In fact, over 80,000 ingredients on the market today have never been tested for safety on human health. That just is a staggering statistic!
I have been using these products for over a year and feel comfortable making recommendations. So please, comment below, like my Facebook page, send me messages. I’d be happy to help you find something for you or one of your loved ones!
